Description:

Perennial up to 12" tall, in clumps with woolly, unbranched stems. Flowers greenish yello; the yellow cleft bracts and upper leaves provide the attraction.

Habitat:

Grows on peaks, in tundra and forest openings, and on hillsides. Subalpine to Alpine
