Eastern Grey Squirrel

Sciurus carolinensis

Description:

Head-body L 23 to 30 cm, tail L19 to 25 cm and the adult weight varies between 400 and 600 grams. Fur is predominantly gray (can have a reddish color), a white underside and a large bushy tail.

Habitat:

Large areas of mature, dense woodland. Also found in urban/residential areas in parks, backyards etc.

Notes:

My husband and I planned a little "cabin camping" for the family at Myakka River State Park. These friendly squirrels acted as the welcoming commitee. Wikipedia used for research.
