Yes, some people are doing this here. It´s a long time investment, at least 8-10 years. The same is done with trees that produce very high quality wood, called in Brazil "Madeira de lei" - http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madeira_de_...

That would be a good tree to raise on a farm, if you planted several of them, like a grove.

I have three of them in my garden, two growing from seeds with 7 years now. You have to wait 10 years for the first fruit. It needs constant water and sun, and support quick periods of cold (~5-10ºC), not freezing.
There is a commerce of this tree in Brazil now. You can buy an old and big tree already producing fruits for "only" U$10.000...

We see here Eugenia cotonifolia small tree in India with similar flower. Its must be from Myrtaceae family...!!
Evergreen tree family. Flowering in spring season.
