Monarch

Danaus plexippus

Description:

Black, yellow and white zebra stripes with horns on head and tail.

Habitat:

Milkweed.

Notes:

These fat little guys have absolutely destroyed all available Asclepius in the Bird & Butterfly Garden at the San Diego Botanic Garden. So fun and educational to see the eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis and butterflies carrying out their lifecycle all on one plant!
