I cannot imagine it growing in complete darkness, however, this IS Oregon, so I guess it isn't impossible

This is the plant that becomes "Belgian endive" when cultivated in complete darkness as well.

Cindy, they surprised me with that delicate quality and I took the pics! ON the roadside, they look kind of harsh with vibrant spots of blue.
