thank you Piali Bopanna for the ID. I have later on seen Malabar Grey hornbill at Rishikesh, and i can tell that the ones found down here at south, is different from Malabar.

Malabar Grey Hornbills don't have casques. Also, they don't have black beaks(at least the ones I've seen). The females have a faded orange beak, while males have beaks which are a brighter orange.

I don't think it is a Malabar Grey Hornbill. Looks like an Indian Grey Hornbill to me.

That's a wild guess based on shape. A physical description with the photo would be helpful though.
