This beautiful bug is called a shield backed bug because we are seeing not the back wing covers (elytra) that we see in beetles but an enlarged scutellum, the triangle plate typical but tiny in most other true bugs. This is the same bug that Juan has spotted and identified here

Gina, I don't think this is a beetle, which has chewing mouth parts, but a true bug, which has sucking mouth parts. But yes, it's very cool looking.
