A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Pedicularis groenlandica
Fine fern-like leaves mostly near the bottom but a few coming up the stem. The flowers are like minature elephant heads clustered along the stalk. These are almost finished flowering as the season draws to a close.
On the edge of a seepage stream in a high mountain meadow. The surrounding area is covered with wild flowers and a few widely spaced evergreens.
Found along the Three Brothers Mountain hiking trail in Manning Park, BC
