My friend and I found this caterpillar baking in the sun on some gravel, so we brought him back over to a nearby bush. He was a couple inches long, very big.

Thank you for saving him! As big as he is, perhaps he got a bit lost as he was finding a place to pupate...
Looks like a polyphemus caterpillar
