black tailed deer

Odocoileus hemionus columbianus

Description:

Common resident of the pacific northwest, the black tailed deer on Hurricane Ridge are so acclimated to humans that this young buck seemed as curious about us as we were of him. He did leave when we were done taking pictures and shooed him off

Habitat:

alpine meadow/forest

Notes:

We could have touched him, but of course we didn't try nor did we encourage him to come any closer
