Notes:

I found these masses of butterflies mostly on coyote scat, but the also visited the wildflowers in the area

I support Darwinist. Here are two comparison pages from Butterflies of America. While similar forewings on these two species, the hindwing markings of a Great Spangeled are very plain as more intricate on the Oregon species. Sometimes side by side comparison is the easiest to see differences. :)

Thanks for your comments, everyone! I think Jeffery's idea makes more sense as the Silverspot info says it's found on the coast. These are very prevalent in the Cascade Mtns., Central & Eastern Oregon

Great photos!! They are apparently considered to be a threatened species, based on the web page I read.
