Here in the U.S. the Ageratums have been split off into the Genus Ageratina ("Snakeroots") after being lumped in with the Eupatoriums. If this is a wild plant it's probably Ageratina altissima (http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/wood...), but if it's a garden plant it could be something more exotic. Keeping the taxonomy of the Asteraceae straight could be a full time job for someone!
