I posted this photo, and others of the beautiful hoar frost I photographed that winter morning on our farm in Kentucky. I got polite messages from others telling me I should only post the photos under the category of the plant or animal pictured with the frost. So, I deleted them, except the original seed pod, which remains unidentified.

Looks somewhat like a cocklebur (Xanthium sp. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cocklebur ) and http://stevecreek.com/wp-content/uploads... but hard to say for sure...
