Spotted this California Thistle while I was hiking in Mt. Diablo State Park in Concord, CA. When I examined the photo more closely, I noticed there was a tiny Yellow Flower Crab Spider on it!

I want to go back again. I have not hiked Mt. Diablo since 2008. I really enjoyed it a lot. Went all the way to the top on one of the hottest days of the summer!
and to say it's in my own backyard and I have not seen it yet!!
Yes--surprise double spottings are great.
I love surprises like that! I usually just have ants :)
