Description:

C. horridus, known as the Timber Rattler in most of its range and the Canebrake Rattler in the deep South, is easily one of North America's largest and most dangerous snakes, growing up to 6 feet long and achieving python-like girth

Habitat:

Upland and lowland forests, rocky outcroppings, pine flatwoods and barrens, and wetlands

Notes:

This little fella was sitting right outside of his hole in a granite outcropping in the Rich Mountain Wilderness near Elijay, GA
