Heck cattle

Bos primigenius

Description:

Heck Cattle are a hardy breed of cattle (Bos primigenius). They are the result of an attempt to breed back the aurochs, which became extinct in 1627, from modern aurochs-derived cattle. Controversy as to success of the program and techniques used specifically revolve around genetics, behavior, biology and the still scientifically debated question of whether the aurochs has "returned" in any form whatsoever, or has been mimicked.

Habitat:

They are living at the "Rieselfelder" in Münster, Germany, which is a biosphere reserve, bird sanctuary and local recreation area.

Notes:

On the second picture two of them started to chase around the goose that landed on their grazing land.
