Stink bug on blackberries

Description:

a brownish shield bug or "stink bug"

Habitat:

often found with blackberries or huckleberries

Notes:

Although I know they're called stink bugs, I've never actually smelled any of them. They can barely be noticed until I go to clean my berries and they are hanging around in the pail. They don't seem have a negative effect on any plants around here.

Thanks for the suggestion. Since that bug is not native to this continent, I've done some more research re. local bugs; there certainly are some that are close but I haven't seen one that just matches. The fact that they seem to vary is just confusing. See: http://www.ipmnet.org/kgphoto/select_tax...
