I should have caught it for a closer look. I will next time. They're very common here.
The Phlegra of Israel have the same coloration. The photos I saw are almost indistinguishable. Anyway, you might be right.
Compare your picture with a male plexippus...see the appendages and its coloration and thickness and slight differnce in color of body...
