Quick moving lizard, around 6 inches long. The white stripes were quite prominent on this lizard, with orange and black blotches forming near-stripes in between.
This lizard was spotted laying on a rock in Joshua Tree National Park on the trail to the Lost Palms Oasis. There had been recent snowfall in nearby Palm Springs so the desert had possibly seen moisture - there were many flowers blooming, but the desert still retained its arid feel on our mid-day hike.
The lizards in the video were seen just a little further down the path and bore the same markings as the one in the picture.
