Tortoise beetle

Stolas festiva

Notes:

By far, the most beautiful thing I've ever photographed (after my wife, of course).

Stunning! It's incredible to think that something so tiny can be so beautiful and intricate. The homage to your wife is sweet, btw.

lori.tas, I searched in the site you posted and I think you are half right. Stolas paranensis's frontal plate looks more like my spot's then the festiva's. Aniway, Parana is my home state, so... Paranensis 4ever !!! (hehehe)

The upturned edge of the shell makes think it's a type of tortoise beetle. It's is truly beautiful.
