Logan, I take that back: you were right, it is a wrasse! Just a much larger wrasse than I am accustomed to seeing. Actually, this one was much bigger, perhaps about a foot in length! (Do note that I am consulting a memory more than five years old, so that is very approximate.) At the time, I recall thinking that it must be a type of parrotfish.
