Thankyou for the info about the different Iguanas and I also noticed the spiny-tailed were not afraid to come close to me and lay in the sun just two feet away.
I got a bit nervous not knowing if it would strike like some greens do.

That's because it's a different species, Doug. The ones you're seeing are green iguanas (Iguana iguana) and not the spiny-tailed iguanas (genus Ctenosaura).

They all look sun bleached in Mexico compared to the imported ones here in Canada that are brighter green.
