Spotting

Description:

This beetle was alive, but had tiny red mites on it. Is it dying, or do they co-exist happily?

Habitat:

Deep in the Maine woods, on a leaf of a small bush near a wetland.

Not sure where you want this classified. Beetle is a "Winter Firefly," Ellychnia corrusca. Mites are parasitic, and I am not a mite expert so I can't identify those.
