Leaf Katydid

Description:

A katydid (Tettigoniidae) that mimics a green leaf. Usually older katydids mimics older browner leaves. About 45mm from head to wing tip. It's wings play an important role in making it's mimicry and camouflage looks more convincing.

Habitat:

Plants that suits it's cover in Kinabalu National park, Kundasang, Sabah, Malaysia.

Notes:

This katydid looks like the common species of katydid in Sabah but I know that this one is not common back in my hometown as I don't remember seeing this species. >>>Map accuracy : 20m radius.
