Scott Bar salamander

Plethodon asupak

Description:

One of the more recent discovered and scarcer lungless salamanders of California. Rather slender looking animals which inhabit mossy northern face hillsides in range of Scott Bar , California. The images show both juvenile (red coloration), a subadult ( with red lines) and an adult (more pinkish animal). Also a shot of the habitat were we found them. At that time this area was slightly outside of it's known distribution. Currently the distribution area is about 70 square kilometers, which is not an awfull lot for a not all the mobile species.
