Eremophila bignoniiflora
An australian native tree with pendulous branches and long narrow bluish green leaves. The foliage was quite dense. The branches were covered with brown papery-skinned fruits about 15 mm diameter. No flowers were seen.
Semi-arid to arid regions.
Eremophila is derived from greek words -"eremos" =desert and "philo" = to love. I spotted this tree with the curious brown fruit growing in a very dry area near an opal mining town in north central New South Wales ( australia). It must have looked beautiful when flowering ! http://www.oznativeplants.com/plantdetai...
