Vulpes vulpes
Silver fox?
Forest
I'd agree with Jean-FrancoisLatour that this is a silver fox, which is a color phase of a red fox. The tip of the tail is white, which a coyote or wolf would be unlikely to have. The nose isn't heavy enough for a wolf and the body is too slender for a coyote. Silver fox are more prevalent in Northwest North America--I've seen them in Alaska and the Yukon Territory--but their fur was highly prized and many were captured and moved to other parts of Canada and the US, including Nova Scotia. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_fox_... for more information.
