Unknown spotting

Description:

Yesterdays find, not unusual in this desert city. This pond as well as others had been drain, to my mind 2 years ago. The birds are found through the city. This one is just opposite a golf course and a park; hidden away and fenced in.

Notes:

Guide to Field Identification BIRDS Of North America Tall, stately birds, with a heavy body and long legs. The long neck is extended in flight.

Thankyou. What interests me the most is the small lake. The area has many the migrating birds are found. It was some years ago Huel Howser had a show on them.
