And for what it's worth, I think photo #3 would be a great lead image. :-)

After counting the upper labial scales, I'm with daniel5. The broad-headed skink has 5 upper labials anterior to the subocular scale, and after saving images #2 and #3 and zooming in to count, that's what I'm coming up with. http://webiocosm.blogspot.com/2007/04/br...

Could be five lined male skink or a broad head skink. A five lined female would have brighter colors.

That looks like a Five-linked Skink (Eumeces fasciatus). Great picture!
