Green Stink Bug

Loxa viridis

Description:

Loxa viridis is a green stink bug common throughout Southern Mexico and Central America. Loxa species are distinguished from other green stink bugs by the spines on the sides of the pronotum, these spines are particularly long in Loxa viridis.They are known to feed on the fruit of Wild Tamarind (Leucaena leucocephala).

Notes:

Numerous spottings of Loxa viridis in disturbed areas, mostly at night.
