"Common" crayfish

Cambarus bartonii

Description:

I believe this is a "Common" crayfish, but I'm not 100% sure. It had a dark brown colour and It was about 3 inches long.

Habitat:

It was found underneath a large rock in Guelph's Speed River, at a fairly slow moving shallow area.

Notes:

It wasn't moving at all, but I believe it was still alive. Perhaps in some form of hibernation since it was early spring.

Hello. This is an arthropod. I have moved it for you from "other", which means "other organisms", not unknown species. :-)
