moth

Description:

Wingspan about 25 mm.

Habitat:

Jungle.

Notes:

Stays motionless on a leaf. From afar I thought it was some kind of frog, disguised as a fallen leaf, but coming closer I saw that it was really a moth. This picture was taken at Aratai, French Guiana, in the forest. February 2003.

Great spot Emilie!
You should consider adding this beauty to the 'Mimetic Animals' & 'Butterflies & Moths' missions!

In fact, the antennae are folded back. They are visible, but you may need to look twice!

What a great disguise! Even the antennae are invisible (I assume there are some).
