Willow

Salix sp.

Description:

Large deciduous bush with light green inflorescence and smooth leaves. The young branches are smooth where the older one's are rough.

Habitat:

Along trail at Lake Hodges

Notes:

This bush housed an Ootheca and Hummingbird nest. I believe it's a species of Salix.

Hi misako.hill. Thanks for the confirmation. I just need to figure out which one :) I already reported the thumbnail issue with the mission and they've started working on it. Thank you for letting me know!

I think it is a salix too. Your Southern California Wildlife mission photo is not displaying properly.
