Green Humphead Parrotfish (head only)

Bolbometopon muricatum

Description:

Humpheads are the largest species of parrotfishes. Adults grow a bulbous forehead which they may use to ram into corals to facilitate feeding.

Notes:

Found this head which is what remains of a Humphead Parrotfish. We surmised it could have been attacked by a shark. Notice the large teeth on pic 2. Spotted at Shipwreck Point, Apo Reef Natural Park.
