Description:

Carpenter bee in the Anthophoridae family. It measures 14-19 mm, it is brown coloured and its wings lack metallic reflections. Adults fly from April to June, feeding on labiated and legumes (Lavandula latifolia, Asphodelus ramosus, Lonicera arborea, Salvia sp.), usually in at warm places. They build their nests in burrows in dead wood, usually hollow trees and old beams.
