Zelus luridus
About 1 cm in length, Zelus is well suited for its role as a predator. Its bright green body and brown wing cases provide good camouflage. Sticky hairs on its front legs help capture and hold prey until it is subdued. In this case, it has captured an ichneumon wasp.
Around forest edges. This particular Zelus was photographed on a path through deciduous forest.
