It looks almost orange with reddish accents. It's hairs are almost blonde and more visible than usual. Moving very slowly as well, probably due to the cold.
Not sure, found it in my back yard in SE portland.
Never seen an ant that looks like this around portland OR. Plenty of huge black carpenter ants, but none like this.
