Camponotus sp. (worker)
These carpenter ants were about an inch each or 2.5 cm. The ants were brown in color with a darker black back to them. There was one that was much larger than the others and had wings. The winged ant was almost double the size of the normal worker ants
The habitat of the carpenter ants were in an ant hill. The hill was about 1.5 feet in diameter. The hill was next to a fallen tree that had started to decay and break down already. The ants were in a wooded area with lots of pine straw on the ground of the woods.
