Hmmm, now I'm not sure again :) Mydas clavatus doesn't have the light markings on the thorax and this doesn't seem to have a clubbed antennae.

I may be mistaken. Apparently the Mydas genus is large, black and has an orange stripe on the second abdominal segment. It's not a true Robber Fly.
