Notes:

We saw two of these together on a gum tree. It was the middle of the day and they were in full song, it was actually painful to stand close to them. This one was moving around the tree - first shot shows the amazing lightning bolt pattern on the wings, the second one shows its colours and the third shows its excellent camouflage ability on rough bark.

Wow, the cicadas you have photographed have quite protrusive eyes compared to the species I see around my place. And that lightning bolt pattern is fantastic!
