Thanks for narrowing the field for me, Livan. I was pretty sure it was a skimmer. This one has the white face lacking in the slaty skimmer.

well, I think what you have here is either a female Libellula incesta - Slaty Skimmer or a female Libellula vibrans - Great Blue Skimmer. They are very close and I'm not too sure which. Here is the link to the salty page and then you can click on the 'see also" link and compare:
