Oleander aphid

Aphis nerii

Description:

Small yellow colonies of aphids taking over my milkweed (pretty miffed). Some colonies have already destroyed the heads of some milkweed plants. This is considered a non-native species.

Habitat:

West central ga.

Notes:

isopropyl alcohol treatment seemed to be effective in treating a lot of them. Also saw a ladybug and ladybug larvae amongst the aphids, so I left them alone to eat the offenders.
