Thank you so much! It was still alive, saved it from getting run over by a bus! Unfortunately my phone doesn't have the best camera but would you say that it's a lethocerus?

Check out this link to get an idea of their overall body shape, and enlarged, grasping forearms (which they use to grasp prey). Unfortunately, your photos are too dark to see enough details to go beyond the Family ID.

This is a predaceous water bug. I hope it was dead when you picked it up, it can give you a nasty bite.
