Description:

Large shrub, up to about 5-6 meters. Grows from thick stems into lots of small, dense branches that resemble green pencils. Leaves and flowers are tiny and inconspicuous.

Habitat:

Native to arid tropical locations in Africa. This individual grows on the grounds of Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida.

Notes:

Contact with the plant or the milky white sap can cause skin irritations. Ingestion of the sap is poisonous and possibly deadly.
