It was amazing how it would walk within a few feet of me. It was going for cat food I put out for a stray cat that was trying to adopt me. It wasn't scared of me at all but I had a huge stick in hand just in case it decided to change its demeanor. One of the coolest moments ever.

Sukanya my patio has very little green areas so it really stood out! But I'm always looking down when I walk the grounds in my community since we have so many different creatures and greenery. I live close to a creek so the nature hunting is abundant.

Sukanya when I found it, it wasn't connected to a root, not sure if it detached on its own or not, looked like a dirty toy ball and was just sitting on the ground. Have been here five years and have never seen one before in the area I live.

Thanks you Hema and Neil.. I barely touched it just for those reasons. I did feel bad about cutting it but I had never seen one before and was really inquisitive. There are so many odd species where I live and I can't help but want to learn more about them.

Mark I had no idea how crazy some of these creatures are! And I've seen these worms before. Now I'll remember to monitor them and see if they are hunting a specific insect to catch a picture.

Hema I first thought they were mating until I read the link Mark posted about the hammerhead. I saw it following the other and thought they were migrating or something like that. Had no idea it was hunting the earthworm. Crazy!
