A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Hi Samantha,
This was taken at Arena Island in Narra, Palawan PHilippines. A local ecotourism destination here.
I see. I've seen 8-month old hatchlings still in their float cages, the caretakers' reason is that predators might get them if they were to be released sooner. I wonder how this affects them once they're released in the wild though. I mean them losing their natural instinct. Could possibly do more harm eh? I hope that common malpractice gets corrected soon..
Thanks! They are adorable.
Gee, thanks Bong and Sachin! This little fellow lives by the tree just beside our house. Lucky for me to have spotted him.
They sure are. Shame I only get to see them in captivity. According to Wiki, "the Binturong can make chuckling sounds when it seems to be happy".
Meet the Palawan Bearcat. Shy furry fellows. They look more amazing in person. :)
Awesome, right? I mean not everyone's got the chance to actually see them at this stage. I saw these babies in a tank though - at the Manila Ocean Park about a year ago. They must have grown by now, probably in their toddler years already. ;)
Beautiful plumage they got.
What a beauty.
Aye. look how intense her stare is! :)
