Thanks Brian38. I looked up the robber fly. I saw images of the red-footed cannibal fly and think they are a good match. Are the robber fly and red-footed cannibal fly in the same family?

Mark, I agree. It's a beautiful critter. The turquoise and yellow look like ceramic glaze. Love it!
