The hole would be made by a bird, either to use the Arboreal Termite Nest as a nest for itself or to feed on the termites.
The Wasps would have either colonised the hole or are using it to capture Termite Soldiers but the Termites usually seal off any damaged sections as quickly as they can.
As well as birds, Possums also use the nests as a home.
