I've only seen one Jefferson Salamander. But it was much more slender than this chubby dude. So I'm inclined to think that it's a Blue-Spotted Salamander. That said, I know that thriving colonies of Tremblay's Salamanders live on some of the marsh areas on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River; and they are, I'm told, hybrids of the Blue-Spotted Salamander and the Jefferson Salamander.
