John Faithful Hamer Blue-Spotted Salamander
Blue-Spotted Salamander commented on by John Faithful Hamer Montréal, Québec, Canada11 years ago

I've only seen one Jefferson Salamander. But it was much more slender than this chubby dude. So I'm inclined to think that it's a Blue-Spotted Salamander. That said, I know that thriving colonies of Tremblay's Salamanders live on some of the marsh areas on the South Shore of the St. Lawrence River; and they are, I'm told, hybrids of the Blue-Spotted Salamander and the Jefferson Salamander. So I guess it's possible. I'm going to add some pictures to the spotting to give you more to work with, LoganReno.
