A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Thank you for the kind comments.
Blue Appaloosa, joined and added to the mission. Thanks.
We observed what appeared to be a Prairie Rattlesnake beginning to eat a Texas Horned Lizard. The Horned Lizard was close, if not dead. We assumed the Rattlesnake had killed the Horned Lizard as prey. This picture is in-situ, unfortunately time did not allow for us to complete the observation and our presence seemed to make the snake a little reluctant to continue. We left the snake and lizard as seen. We were with a State Land Board Biologist who said this prey item has been recorded before, in one case causing death to the snake. Interesting observation.
Thank you Cammie. I was shooting about 1.5 feet away.
